Android Platform Software Engineer - Beijing

This position is based in Beijing, China.

Google engineers continue to stretch the boundaries of how people connect with information, and this extends to the company's mobile initiatives. Our Mobile Applications Software team includes talented engineers who work on problems unique to mobile computing, from inception through the end of the product development lifecycle. We strive to create innovative products and services that work on mobile devices for those who need access wherever they go.

Google China is hiring engineers to help revolutionize communications. We are looking for qualified candidates to work on our newly announced Android cell phone platform software.

The Android Platform is a complete set of software for mobile devices: an operating system, middleware and key mobile applications, which will give mobile operators, handset manufacturers, and developers everything they need to build innovative devices, software and services. With devices built on the revolutionary Android Platform, users will be able to fully tailor the phone to their interests.

Requirements:

    * BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent major
    * Solid software product development experience
    * Extensive experience in programming in C/C++ and/or Java
    * Extensive knowledge on Linux/Unix systems and programming
    * Experience developing and debugging mobile software including OS, platform and application
    * Good understanding of algorithms
    * Good English communication skills
    * Experience with embedded systems (ARM9, etc) a plus
    * Experience with mobile platforms (J2ME, Symbian, WM, etc) development a plus
